Environmental Specialist and Department Team Leader, Resilience & Sustainable Development (RSD) Team
Since Jan 2012, Winifereti Nainoca has been at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Pacific Office, Fiji. She is currently the Environmental Specialist & Team Leader a.i. for Resilience & Sustainable Development Team, RSD (covering Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Disaster Management, Renewable & Efficient Energy & Environmental conservation) looking after 9 Pacific Island Countries and 14 PICs for regional programmes. Currently there are about 60+ programmes and projects in various stages from formulation to implementation in the RSD team.

Before joining UNDP, Winifereti was Head of School of General Studies (now School of Applied Science) from 2003-2009 at Fiji Institute of Technology (now part of Fiji National University). She lectured in Natural Resource Management, Analytical Chemistry, Marine Ecology, Industrial Microbiology, Soil Science, Wastewater treatment, Biochemistry, etc. She taught Science (Chem, Bio, Physical Sc) in high schools from 1984-1988.
