I am Karath Mal Waka, I am the chairman for Human Rights Inter-Pacific Association.

I am a senior human rights advocate based in Porgera in the Enga Province of Papua New Guinea.

I have been a advocate for almost 17 years advocating on corrupt government policies and huge corporations who have been abusing the rights of indigenous communities who host huge corporations.

During my time as a human rights activist I was heavily involved in protesting against Canadian Placer Dom and recently Barrick Gold Corp who acquired the same Porgera Gold Mine.

I was providing advocacy to the following areas;
1.extrajudicial killings & injuries caused by mines security personnels
2.sexual abuse cases conducted by mines security personnels
3.environmental degradation activities caused by the mine operation and
4.other mine related cas
